Trip Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a friendly representative from Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After checking in, you can refresh yourself and take some well-deserved rest following your long international journey. In the evening, we will take you for a relaxed walk around Thamel, the lively tourist hub of Kathmandu. Thamel is famous for its colorful streets, souvenir shops, cafes, trekking stores, and vibrant atmosphere. You can enjoy local food, do some shopping, or simply soak in the cultural vibe while preparing yourself mentally and physically for the exciting journey ahead. Overnight at the hotel.

Today, we begin our journey early in the morning toward Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most beautiful cities. You may choose to travel either by scenic flight (approximately 25 minutes) or by comfortable tourist drive (6–7 hours). The drive follows the picturesque Trishuli River, where you can observe local life, terraced hills, waterfalls, and adventurous rafting activities along the way. Upon arrival in Pokhara, known as the “City of Lakes,” you will check into a deluxe hotel. The remainder of the day is free for self-exploration. You may walk along Lakeside, enjoy boating on Phewa Lake, relax in cafes, or explore the peaceful surroundings. Overnight at a deluxe hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we drive for about 30 minutes to Phedi, a small settlement that serves as one of the main gateways to the Annapurna region. From Phedi, the trek officially begins. The trail ascends gradually through stone steps, lush forests, and terraced farmland, offering beautiful views of villages and surrounding hills. Along the way, you will experience rural Nepali life and warm hospitality from local people. After 2–3 hours of hiking, we reach Dhampus, a charming Gurung village known for its stunning Himalayan scenery. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Overnight at a teahouse on a full-board basis.

Early in the morning, wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas from Dhampus. After breakfast, the trail descends gently toward the Dhampus Khola (stream). Crossing the stream, the route gradually ascends through terraced rice fields, small forests, and traditional villages until reaching Naudanda. This section of the trek provides excellent opportunities to observe daily village life of Chhetri and Brahmin communities. Continuing along the ridgeline, we hike through peaceful trails surrounded by natural beauty before finally reaching Sarangkot. Sarangkot is famous for its spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, including Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, Pokhara Valley, and Phewa Lake. Overnight at a teahouse on a full-board basis.

Today begins early with a visit to the Sarangkot Sunrise Viewpoint, one of the best sunrise locations in Nepal. From here, you can witness golden sunlight illuminating the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre ranges, creating an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, we begin a scenic downhill trek toward Pokhara, passing through forests, cultivated fields, and small villages. The walk takes approximately 3–4 hours. Upon reaching Pokhara, check into a deluxe hotel. In the evening, your guide will take you for sightseeing around Pokhara Valley, including Bindabasini Temple, Phewa Lake boating with a visit to Barahi Temple, Davis Falls, and Gupteshwor Cave. Overnight at a deluxe hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

After breakfast, you have free time to enjoy optional activities in Pokhara such as paragliding, boating, cycling, or short sightseeing tours. Later, you may return to Kathmandu either by a scenic afternoon flight or by road. If flying, sitting on the left side of the airplane offers incredible Himalayan views. The road journey provides one last chance to enjoy Nepal’s countryside scenery. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will transfer to your hotel. The evening is free for rest or last-minute shopping. In the evening, Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition will host a special farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant with cultural performances to celebrate the successful completion of the Dhampus–Sarangkot Trek.
