The trek schedule to Everest Base Camp in 2025 and 2026

The 14-day Everest Base Camp trip always starts with a scenic flight to Lukla, which is an airport located on a Himalayan ridge. Upon arrival at this beautiful airport, we proceed to Phakding, where we will spend our first night on this incredible trek through Nepal. This amazing village, situated near a river, is an excellent place to end the first day of our Everest Base Camp tour. The next day, we continue our ascent through a jungle landscape and enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Fun fact: Locally, Everest is known as Sagarmatha. After a successful day of trekking, we reach Namche Bazaar, which is the largest settlement in the area and is primarily inhabited by Sherpas.

There are numerous attractions to explore in this town, ranging from intriguing museums to charming restaurants. It is a fantastic place to visit, particularly when embarking on an Everest Base Camp climb, as the streets are filled with unique handicrafts and Himalayan goods. At Nepal Planet Treks, we prioritize your safety, as acute mountain sickness is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly.

To prepare for higher altitudes, we will spend a day acclimatizing in a beautiful town. One way to do this is to hike up to the Everest View Hotel and Khumjung village. Although not all Everest trekking programs include this excursion, we can arrange it for you. As we continue our Everest Base Camp trek itinerary, we will travel to Tengboche, a famous Buddhist monastery and a great place to experience the local way of life. Talking to Buddhist monks and watching their peaceful meditation can be very inspiring. And of course, you will get to see Mount Everest, Ama-Dablam, and Lhotse while enjoying a hot drink from the Tengboche Western Bakery.

According to our Everest Base Camp trip schedule, on the following day we will head to Dingboche, where we will spend our second acclimatization day. During this time, we will climb up to Nagarjuna Peak to get breathtaking views of Mount Ama-Dablam, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu, Island Peak, and more. After a restful night, we will depart for Lobuche, where we will spend our final night before heading to our next destination. Everest Base Camp.

We will need to trek through challenging terrain for a few hours to reach Gorakshep from Lobuche. Once we arrive, we can store our bulky luggage at the guesthouse and proceed directly to Everest Base Camp. The feeling of arriving at this famous location is indescribable, with the Khumbu Glaciers lying beneath and the towering mountains around EBC. Amazing EBC trekking with NPT

Sanjib and his team have been very accommodating since the day we start to inquire about the trip. We did the EBC trek from 28th Oct to 8th Nov 2018. It was completely hassle-free for us the moment we arrive at Kathmandu airport, Sanjib greeted us with our guide for the trek Raj at the airport and brought us around for sourcing the equipment. Raj had been very helpful guide indeed along the trail, we were definitely well taken care of during the trail. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend NPT to anyone that wants to do the trail in Nepal. Will definitely return again to this beautiful country!

Trek to EBC and Tour of Kathmandu

If you are reading this, you have likely made up your mind to trek to Everest Base Camp or explore Nepal and are trying to make a decision about your trekking company. Prior to our adventure, I was where you are at doing as much research as possible as this was my 15 year daughter’s dream and I was tasked with her safety on this trek. With that being said, I placed our well being in the hands of Nepal Planet Treks and Expeditions based on a review I found where Sanjib had led a couple in their mid-50’s safely down from EBC after the earthquakes in 2015. It was a fantastic decision as a team that Sanjib (Laxman – our guide, Raj – our porter, and Sanjib) put together was outstanding and made our trip a memory of a lifetime. The Nepal Planet Treks and Expeditions team went out of their way to accommodate all our needs, schedule, concerns, and the things we didn’t even know we needed. This included: -Prior to arriving, Sanjib was quick to respond to any questions and made planning easy. -Sanjib met us at the airport upon arrival, checked us into the hotel he had arranged for us, took us to dinner and made sure our first day in Kathmandu was easy and fun. -Laxman and Sanjib reviewed our gear prior to the trek and helped us rent or buy what we needed in Kathmandu so what we packed on the trek was exactly what what we should take. -Laxman constantly checked in with us along the trek to make sure we were comfortable and feeling well. He took extra time to address any issues that came up and thoughtfully told us to go at our own pace and enjoy the trek. He also served our meals, making sure we were getting the nutrition and sleep we needed at each tea house. -Laxman knew this was my daughter’s adventure and was conscious about her questions and pace during the day. He even sent pictures/texts back home to my wife to let her know where we were at and that we were safe when our phones did not work (he is our adopted son now by the way). -Every time we saw Raj he had a smile on his face despite lugging all our gear up and down the trail to EBC. -Sanjib took us on a fantastic tour of Kathmandu after we returned from the EBC trek as we had a couple days to kill before flying out. After spending 14 days trekking and couple more in Kathmandu with Laxman and Sanjib, there is obviously a lot more to say, but I think you get the picture. If you are looking for a cost-effective and overly accommodating trekking company in Nepal, you can do no wrong in selecting Sanjib’s Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition P. Ltd.

Ecellent Company to Work With

NJ and his staff are great to work with. We had a change of plans in the middle of our trek, and our guide made it work out very smoothly. Loxman and Nepal were super to have with us in the field, and NJ helped it all run smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Nepal.

Amazing!

Luxman was a really great guide! The added fruit at every tea house made every other traveler jealous. We were given the best rooms and the best treatment compared to everyone else we were sharing with. Sanjib was professional and reassuring with every question we had. The overall trek experience is scary, exhilarating and challenging. It takes you out of comfort zones and into bare minimal living. However, as someone who doesnt usually camp, I managed to do it! It was one of the best things i ever did, and couldnt have done it with better and people! Thanks guys.

12 Days Everest Base Camp Treks

I booked an EBC trek with Sanjib as he came highly recommended by Tripadvisor and other forums. The guys were fantastic, they have excellent knowledge of the area and provided a wealth of advice/information about the trek, safety during the trek, things to do after the trek. I was initially a little disappointed on the day of the trek that Sanjib was not our guide as I had this trek booked way in advance but I quickly got over. Sarjon (Sanjib’s brother) was a young man with a wealth of knowledge and an easy-going attitude and experienced guide who provided assistance when required. Many of the staff were always on hand to help particularly after the trek and very helpful in arranging other activities during the rest of our stay. I would definitely recommend Nepal Planet Trek and its Service.

Refresh Adventure in Nepal

We went on two separate trips with Nepal planet treks and guide Sanjib Adhiakri. One up to Everest Base Camp and one to Chitwan national park. I can’t say enough about how amazing the service was and we felt truly valued throughout both experiences. The prices were reasonable and even after we finished the two trips Sanjib was there if we had any questions about Nepal even if we weren’t looking to book anything with him. Can honestly said that Sanjib and his team made our experience in Nepal so easy and enjoyable!

wonder full treks in Everest base camp 2017.

I could not possibly thank for Nepal planet treks and this company enough for the wonderful trip. I had the very best adventure. Not only did I send Adhikari my wishlist of activities and destinations but I also described the kind of trip I wanted to have: fun and celebratory and also active and exciting. From the time I stepped off the plane until I left to return home, Adhikari had everything planned down to the last detail. He booked me into fantastic hotels, recommended outstanding restaurants, and accommodated each and every request that I voiced. I give Adhikari and his company my highest recommendation without hesitation. The trip was perfect and special.

Whole experience was really good and professional

We went for EBC trek with my sister, we hired a guide from Nepal Planet Trek & Expedition. The whole experience was really good and professional. I spoke with Sanjib Adhikari by emails and by phone, Sanjib was really helpful, organizing the permits for us, hiring a porter, booking tickets, hotels and gave us some advice about what we will need for trek. When we arrived to Kathmandu he picked us up from the airport, everything went smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about anything. Sanjib is a very helpful person, he introduced us to other guide working in the company, who took care of us while being in Kathmandu and showing the city. I can really recommend the Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition, they are all very nice people and also competent. Thank you for the best holiday in my life!

Trekking Base Camp Everest

1st Class Trekking Agency - 1st Class Staff!

We used NPT based on social media. Amazing photos but really we had no idea if they were good company with good staff. How lucky we were to hire a porter guide through them! They were professional and curious when answering our initial questions and very fast to respond. They assigned us a porter guide named Raj for our three passes trek. Raj MADE our trek! He met us right off the plane in Lukla and each step of the way he not only carried both of our backpacks but gave us suggestions on places to go that we initially didn’t consider, such as Ama Dablam base camp. Also, he let us choose our own accommodation. Which on a couple occasions was a mistake and we should have just listened to his suggestions. Raj’s English isn’t fluent but we never had a problem communicating. He was also there to help us if we needed it, but never was he in our way or personal space. My husband and I had an amazing trip and we would not have had such a great experience without Raj! If we trek in Nepal again we will absolutely use Nepal Planet Treks again. 5 Star trekking agency!

The trip to Everest Base Camp (5364 M) 5-19 October 2019

Thank Sanjib, N.J., assistant guide and all porters for helping us (a group of 14 persons including the ages with 70’s) to reach Mount Everest Base Camp (5364 M) successfully for the trip running from 5-19 October 2019. Without their help, we may not be able to have our dream come true. For me, it is really not an easy task and I am very happy and excited with the completion of the trek. Sanjib is an experienced guide with good management and he is always be ready to assist everybody. He is smart, active, easy-going, responsible, considerate, kind-hearted and reliable. On top of that, he always wears smile on his face and tries to make fun with us. Being a guide, he also performs the role of being your friend and makes you feel warm. When getting on the trek, he helps you to overcome the difficult path or even gives hand to carry your small backpack to let you walk smoothly and stably. I really thank him from the bottom of my heart. Assistant guide also tried his best to serve everybody with the treks, drinks and food. He is very nice and always let people have warm feelings. , Each porter carries our 2 big backpacks together with his own backpack which weighs around 30 kg. It seems that it is too heavy to carry with their small bodies. However, they try hard to complete the job even though it is in the critical environment of the high altitude. I feel very sorry about it even with my tears rolling in my heart since I can’t carry my big backpack by myself and let them bear the heavy weight. Every time I meet porters, I thank them and appreciate their hard work a lot. At the end of the trip, we give them tips, souvenirs and free beer which may not be able to compensate for their efforts. I give big salute to them from time to time. Thanks a lot to Dhan Kumar Rai (a young guy) and others whom I do not know their names. Hope that we might meet each other one day in future. For those young boys who should be with the school life. Instead, they need to pick up this difficult job. After reaching Mount Everest Base Camp (5364 M), one of our tour members got swollen with his body next day. The tour guide, Sanjib advised him to take rescue helicopter to the hospital in Kathmandu immediately since he was in unstable condition which may be very risky. At first, the member insisted continuing the trek. With Sanjib’s detailed explanation and advice, the member gave up to continue the trek and accept the delivery to the hospital in Kathmandu by the rescue helicopter. As a last resort, we got relaxed and can have a big deep breath. When the member arrived in the hospital of Kathmandu, N.J. (the second brother of Sanjib) was waiting to serve him for the admission to the hospital. N.J. had accompanied him in the hospital for about 4 days. Thank him a lot for the caretaking of the tour member. It is a difficult trip which is also impressive and memorable. Maybe we will try other treks the coming years.

The Trip of a Lifetime!

I can't thank Sanjib and Raj enough for making our trip to EBC one of the most amazing and memorable experiences I've ever had. Sanjib and I had been communicated for nearly a year before our trip and was world class in helping plan out every detail of our trip and was happy to accomodate all the changes along the way. Upon arrival in KTM, Sanjib and his brother waited for us at the airport while we dealt with the delays at customs and greeted us with open arms and transport to our hotel where we caught up, chatted and discussed our plan for our EBC trip with Sanjib and our guide, Raj. Sanjib took care of every detail from hotels, flights and transport and making us feel at home during our trip. Our 11 days to base camp where incredible and our guide was amazing teaching us about life in Nepal, the mountains and making sure we were well equipped to take on the challenge. We also enjoyed our time in KTM with Sanjib learning about Nepalese culture first hand from him and his family and he also helped arrange any of our requests within the city. Our trip also included a side trip to Chitwan NP and Nagarkot which Sanjib helped arrange and personally helped us travel between each place. I will 100% rely on him again for our next trip to the HImalaya and can't wait to return! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everest Base Camp

We have just completed an 11 day York to EBC and wow it was amazing. From the very start dealing with Nepal PlanetTreks and Expeditions was so easy and we were kept fully informed. Although we had a two day delay waiting in Ramechhap Airport our guide Sanjya was a star, re-scheduling flights and booking local accommodation. Once we started the trek t=the attention, care and support was second to none - so much attention to detail was given yo ensure we had a ‘never to forget experience’. It was so good to see Sanjya caring not just for us (including taking daily oxygen saturation levels), but also other porter, guides and trekkers - sharing all of his vast knowledge and experience. This is the 2nd time our family has used the team, and we would highly recommend others doing likewise.

Unforgettable Trek to Everest Basecamp with Nepal Planet Treks

My recent trek to Everest Basecamp, guided by Niraj from Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition P. Ltd, was an extraordinary adventure that I highly recommend. From the outset, Niraj proved to be an invaluable guide—knowledgeable, helpful, and exceptionally kind. His expertise and encouraging nature played a crucial role in navigating the challenges of the trek. The journey itself, while demanding in terms of length and mental stamina, was immensely rewarding. The breathtaking views of the Himalayan landscape were well worth the effort. Each step brought a new, stunning vista that surpassed the last, making the physical exertion all the more worthwhile. Trekking with Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition P. Ltd was a seamless experience. The professionalism and warmth of everyone involved made a significant difference. I felt supported and valued as a trekker, which enhanced the overall experience. For anyone considering this trek, I cannot recommend Niraj and Nepal Planet Treks enough. It’s not just about seeing the mountains—it’s about the journey, the camaraderie, and the lifelong memories you will create.

Once in a lifetime experience

We had a wonderful experience with Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition as a private tour group to EBC. It was value for money. Our porters were amazing and hardworking, always ensuring our bags are delivered on time. Our guide Raj took care of our daily needs, patiently waiting when we run late and making sure we are well fed. Upon request, he also booked accomodations with private toilets/showers when available. Sanjib was responsive remotely and aid us with most questions and documentations required. The only advice if you’re going with this tour is to bring your own oximeter that would be helpful at altitude. We had a great time and would recommend Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition!

A great experience

Aug 2024 • Couples My husband and I trekked to Everest Base Camp (EBC) from 08/26 to 09/09/204. Our guide was Niraj Baniya. Our experience was spectacular in every way. We acclimatized very well, thanks to the expertise of our guide, who led and guided us in the best possible way. We really enjoyed trekking at this time of year, because that was when life gave us this experience. The trails and lodges were not full, and the communities were still preparing to receive the large number of tourists that would arrive in the following weeks. This way, we had the privilege of having more natural contact with the community and with nature, since even the yaks were resting and preparing for the high season work. The mornings were generally sunny, with some clouds, and even so, we were able to enjoy stunning views. We had a few days of rain and cloudy weather, but as expected, this did not take away from the shine or satisfaction of having made this beautiful dream come true. All the meals were delicious and generous; the famous Dal Bhat gave us energy for the long days. One of the highlights was the delicious and loving dish of apple and pomegranate that our guide and the Sherpa offered us every night, right after dinner. This was a symbol of welcome, a caress for our souls, as well as the joy and patience they dedicated to us every day. This is commendable. Having a qualified guide, with over 20 years of experience, made all the difference in our journey, ensuring safety and a vast knowledge of the local culture, mountains and customs. We had a deeply enriching experience. The Himalayas are a sacred and grand place in every aspect, providing many moments of reflection and a sense of life that only experiences like this can offer. Transformation happens every day, with every step and every breath. You transform as you climb, you adapt, you find the courage to face your challenges and you are moved every day by the grandeur that this journey represents. Oh, I can't forget to mention the flowers! Be sure to enjoy and admire their beauty, as well as the sound of the birds, the smell of the trees, the smile of the dogs and the grace that the route offers at every turn, every climb or descent. It is difficult to express in words all the richness of this experience; everyone who has the privilege of setting foot on this land will experience everything that their heart is open to receive and feel. The journey is beautiful and grand, I can guarantee that.

The tea houses were comfortable, and the meals were excellent, especially considering the remote location. Safety was a top priority, with regular health check-ins and support for acclimatization. I highly recommend Nepal Planet trek for their dedication to making the EBC trek unforgettable!

Amazing adventure

We really enjoyed the trek. NJ, Mukund and Jiban were excellent and so were our amazing porters. We ran into numerous snags along the way but they were very quick on their feet and tried to make our trek as comfortable as possible and ensured that we would get to basecamp inspite of all the weather delays we encountered along the way. They became good friends with the whole group by the time we were done with the trek and treated us like family. Highly recommend them for giving you a fabulous experience.

Excelent in all ways.

Everything was just spot on! From the get-go, the communication with the company was awesome, even from my home country. I had the chance to meet NJ in Thamel for coffee, and he’s such a great guy – always making sure everything was smooth for the tour. During the trek, my guide was Anil Ray, who was fantastic! He was super helpful, and we kept a nice pace throughout our adventure. Everything went as planned – or even better! I'm really happy I decided to book my tour with them. From NJ to Anil, everyone was super supportive and made sure I could handle the long trek. I’d totally recommend them to a friend!

Experience Of A Life Time With Nepal Planet Treks

From the day we communicated with NJ from Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition we knew we were in the right hands for our dreams to be fulfilled. He helped us build our trip itinerary as we had spend 3 weeks in Nepal. They took care of everything. They planned all our trips to Kathmandu and surrounding area's, Chitwan National Park, Pokhara, Muktinath and Must see places. Sanjib was our tour guide to all the places we visited. I must say Sanjib was extremely knowledgeable , patience and knew how to take care of us. Because of him we were able to successfully complete the EBC trek without any issue's. My wife and I cannot thank enough to Sanjib. Our porter was Bir Bahadur and we appreciated him for carrying our must take items on the trek. NJ was always available when needed during our initial planning and after. He was only a phone call away. We would recommend highly recommend 10/10 Nepal Planet & Treks to everyone who is considering a trekking or site seeing in Nepal.

Did a 3 week trip through the Everest area with guide and porter through this organization in November 2024. It was a fantastic experience, very experienced guide and porter! The accommodations and lunch places were carefully chosen. Without any problems my itinerary was changed when I suffered from altitude sickness. I can only recommend this organization! den!

30 day Everest Base Camp trek November 2024

I contacted Sanjib at Nepal Planet via their web page to arrange a Guide/Porter to accompany me on a 30 day Everest Base Camp trek starting from Jiri. Sanjib made all arrangements including meeting me at Tribhuvan Airport, providing me with Picas as my Guide / Porter, providing a suitable large bag for Picas to carry and arranging transport by public bus to the trailhead. All these services were provided efficiently and the I was happy to retain Picas as my Guide / Porter for a second Trek in the Langtang region.

I really enjoyed the EBC trek, I went singly and joined 3 others. Sanjib is such a nice guide, he is knowledgeable about the mountains and route. He has a great sense of humour, and he helped me a lot especially when the path was icy. The trek was a fantastic experience, I would recommend it. The tea houses were comfortable

EBC fantastic experience thanks also for Sanjibhe

I just finished the EBC trek, it was a fantastic experience, a long and tiring route, the last hard stretch. A whirlwind of unforgettable emotions for nature, wonderful landscapes and connection with locals. I recommend this agency, chosen by chance from the internet, for the excellent organization: on the day of departure since there are no flights to Lukkla made the helicopter available. The choice of Tea Houses was very accurate considering the territory and the offer. A final applause I gladly give to Sanjib, attentive, caring and generous guide; he always gave advice on how to dress and what to eat so as not to get heavy; every evening we breafed on the weather conditions and on the path to follow the next day. Sanjib is also an experienced guide, nice, ready to help, he never refused to take pictures. I highly recommend Nepal Planet Trek., you will be highly satisfied.

Best Trek Ever!

This was my second time trekking in Nepal. While my first experience was not bad, I must admit that choosing to go with Nepal Planet Trekking crew was a complete game changer! This time around it was a family trip to do the EBC Trek . There were 4 of us in total. Each member of the team was at very different levels of physical fitness. Our guide Rojan was so incredibly tuned in to our needs and capabilities. He went above and beyond to keep us safe every step of the way. Our accommodations throughout the entire trek were very comfortable and in some cases even luxurious for what’s available at higher altitudes. It goes without saying that Nepal Planet Trekking puts their clients first! Every detail was covered with great precision. On arrival in Kathmandu we got to tour the city and several of its temples. Our hotel was really nice, comfortable and full of modern amenities. Our guide was very friendly, genuinely caring, and super knowledgeable about Nepali culture and was happy to answer the many questions that I had about everything under the sun while traversing the rough terrain on our way to and from EBC. Special, and a VERY BIG THANKS to our porters Ram and Samir, who not only carried our duffles, but also took part in keeping an eye on us throughout our journey! So much love for those guys! In short, this was a bucket list adventure, and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with Nepal Planet Trekking! Highly recommend to anyone, especially those who value quality and meaningful connections! Special note: while it is your guides job to keep you safe, please remember that EBC is an advanced trek, so please do your research and all the necessary perp to maximize the quality of your experience.

Amazing EBC Trek

My entire experience with Nepal Planet Treks has been just wonderful! We did EBC trek at end of November through early December. From the moment we were greeted at the airport in Katmandu until the last day everyone made sure so that our trip was the best we could have. From the begging team was informative, helpful and supportive. Razam our porter was great, always warm and smiling like if our bags didn't weight anything. Raj, our guide was source of knowledge about local culture, people, traditions, cuisine and nature. He organized all logistics of the trek daily. NJ did not only greet us and started us on the successful trek, but also went above and beyond to help. Our bag was lost by airline and arrived after we were already on trek. NJ went out of his way and picked up the bag from the airport and delivered to our hotel for storage. He helped us gather required gear in Katmandu and had plenty of recommendations. NJ and entire team ensured that our positive experience was the only thing we had to care about. All accommodations and meals were organized well. All teahouses were clean, welcoming and there were no unpleasant surprises. We feel that the rooms that we got were actually always well situated and could not have been better. The food was absolutely amazing all over the trek. We can honestly recommend Nepal Planet Treks and will definitely want their service when we came back to explore the region in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

No prior trekking experience is strictly required, but good physical fitness is essential. The trek involves long days of walking, steep ascents, and high-altitude conditions. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition recommends at least 3-4 months of regular cardio training such as walking, running, or cycling, combined with some strength exercises. Experience in moderate-altitude trekking can help, but with proper acclimatization and guidance, beginners can also successfully complete the trek.

The trek is considered moderate to challenging due to the combination of daily walking hours, altitude gain, and rugged terrain. Hikers will cover 3,000 to 5,500 meters (9,800–18,200 ft) over several days. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition emphasizes that the difficulty comes more from altitude and long trekking days rather than technical climbing. Proper acclimatization, staying hydrated, and walking at a steady pace significantly reduce difficulty and risk.

Altitude sickness is a real concern on the Everest Base Camp Trek, as trekkers ascend to over 5,500 meters (18,000 ft). Symptoms include headaches, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition follows a strict acclimatization schedule, including rest days at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. To prevent altitude sickness, trekkers should walk slowly, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and never ascend faster than recommended. In severe cases, descent is the safest solution.

Daily walking hours vary between 3 to 8 hours, depending on the section of the trek. The trail is a combination of gradual ascents, steep climbs, and some uneven terrain. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition structures the itinerary to allow a gradual ascent with rest and acclimatization days, reducing the risk of fatigue and altitude sickness while providing sufficient time to enjoy the scenery and local culture.

Yes, the Everest Base Camp Trek can be combined with other Himalayan experiences, such as helicopter tours, Everest viewpoints, or longer treks like Gokyo Lakes. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition can create customized packages based on your interests, fitness level, and available time. Whether it’s a short trek, cultural exploration, or adventure trekking, our team ensures a safe, memorable, and well-organized Himalayan experience.

The trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a scenic but sometimes challenging mountain airport flight. The return is by flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition coordinates all flights, permits, and airport transfers, ensuring a smooth journey. Flights are weather-dependent, and slight delays are common, so flexibility is important.

Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition offers expert local guides, personalized itineraries, and complete support for Everest Base Camp trekkers. Our team prioritizes safety, comfort, and authentic experiences, including cultural interactions with Sherpa communities. With years of experience organizing Himalayan treks, we ensure you enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime adventure while minimizing risks and maximizing memories.

Weather & Seasons

The Everest Base Camp Trek can be undertaken throughout the year, but the best seasons are pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to November). During these periods, the weather is generally stable, skies are clear, and the mountain views are breathtaking. March to May also offers beautiful rhododendron blooms, while September to November is ideal for trekking with minimal rainfall and crisp, clear views of the Himalayas. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition advises avoiding the monsoon months (June to August) due to heavy rainfall, landslides, and slippery trails.

Accommodation and Food

Accommodation along the route consists mainly of teahouses or lodges. These are simple but comfortable, offering twin or triple rooms with shared or private bathrooms, hot showers (for a fee), and basic meals. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition selects teahouses that maintain good hygiene and offer safe sleeping arrangements. As you climb higher, the facilities become more basic, but the lodges still provide shelter, food, and a cozy place to rest after long days of trekking.

The Everest region teahouses serve a combination of Nepali, Tibetan, and Western dishes. Popular meals include dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), momo (dumplings), noodles, soups, and pasta. While vegetarian options are available, fresh vegetables and fruits are limited at higher altitudes. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition ensures trekkers have access to nutritious meals that help maintain energy and strength for the trek.

Guides, Support & Safety

While it is possible to trek independently, Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition strongly recommends hiring a licensed guide and/or porter. Guides provide local knowledge, navigate the trails safely, monitor health for altitude sickness, and enrich the experience with cultural insights. Porters can carry heavy luggage, allowing trekkers to focus on trekking safely and comfortably. Hiring a guide or porter also supports the local economy.

Trek Preparation and Equipment

Trekking in the Everest region requires layered clothing to handle fluctuating temperatures. Essentials include thermal base layers, fleece jackets, down jackets, trekking pants, waterproof jackets, gloves, warm hats, sturdy trekking boots, and sunglasses. Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition also recommends packing a sleeping bag rated for cold temperatures, trekking poles, a water bottle, sunscreen, and personal medication. Packing smart ensures comfort and safety during the trek.
