The journey takes 14 days from Kathmandu to Kathmandu, with the hike itself lasting 12 days. Many hikers choose to trek across the Mustang region to reach the upper Mustang and then take a Jeep.

.The Upper Mustang, located in Nepal, is a trekking area that has limited access. It is often referred to as “Mini Tibet” due to its native culture, traditional meals, and dwellings, which gives visitors the impression of being in Tibet. The way of life, animals, and attire are all similar to that of Tibet. The border site is only 2 kilometers away from Lo-Manthang Village, making it possible for visitors to ride a horse and visit Tibet from the border. You can experience a portion of Tibet and the Tibetan Himalayas by traveling there.

Day by Day Itinerary


Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will gather at the international airport, drive to the hotel, check-in, and rest before exploring the hotel and discussing our itinerary. We will spend the night in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we will spend half a day sightseeing and visiting Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath Stupa for spiritual experiences. We will also explore Durbar Square to see its historic architecture. We will be staying overnight in Kathmandu.

After having breakfast, a great number of tourists choose to travel by tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara as it is a popular and convenient option. The distance between the two cities is around 200 kilometers, and the journey usually takes about 6 to 7 hours, depending on the traffic and the road conditions. It is worth noting that visitors often spend the night in Pokhara.

After having breakfast, many tourists and locals opt for a jeep ride from Pokhara to Tatopani due to the picturesque route and challenging terrain. However, it’s worth noting that road conditions and the availability of transportation can be unpredictable. The most common route is to take the Siddhartha Highway (also known as the Pokhara-Baglung Highway) from Pokhara. This road is well-maintained and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. After a few hours of driving, you should reach Tatopani. This place is famous for its natural hot springs, which are a popular attraction for travelers seeking relaxation after a long journey. Spend the night in Tatopani to make the most of your visit.

After having breakfast, you need to take a Jeep to reach Tatopani. Kagbei Village is situated approximately 50 kilometers (31 miles) away from Tatopani by road. It takes around 3-4 hours to reach the village from Tatopani by Jeep. However, road conditions can be challenging in some parts, especially during the monsoon season or after heavy rainfall. The route is characterized by mountainous terrain, narrow and winding roads, and occasional rough patches.

Kagbei Village is located in a remote area, and lodging options might be limited. If you’re planning to stay overnight, it’s recommended that you inquire about available accommodation facilities in advance. Alternatively, you may consider camping.

After breakfast, we will be continuing our journey in a Jeep. The drive from Kagbeni to Ghami will take us through a rugged path that showcases the magnificent landscapes of the Mustang region. The wheels of the Jeep will conquer rocky terrain, cross riverbeds, and ancient villages. As the engine roars, the driver and passengers will witness the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayas, making it a thrilling adventure that will be etched in their memories forever. We will be spending the night in Ghami Village.

After having breakfast, we were driven by Jeep to transport Ghami to Lo Manthang, a remote village located in Nepal’s Mustang district. The journey was quite rugged and showcased the stunning landscapes of the Himalayas, as we had to cross rivers and traverse challenging terrain. Despite the difficulties, Ghami enjoyed the exhilarating ride and was quite excited to explore the ancient capital of Lo Manthang. We spent the night in Lo Manthang village.

After having breakfast, we will spend the entire day sightseeing in Lo Manthang. Lo Manthang is a remote and ancient village situated in the Mustang District of Nepal. It is located high in the Himalayas and is renowned for its unique Tibetan culture and breathtaking landscapes. With its medieval architecture, monasteries, and vibrant festivals, Lo Manthang provides an enchanting experience for adventurous travelers. We will stay overnight in Lo Manthang.

After having breakfast, we will drive to Chhuksang. The journey from Manthang to Chhuksang includes crossing valleys and winding through rugged landscapes along ancient trade routes. You will witness breathtaking views of the Himalayas, encounter charming villages, and experience the unique culture of the Mustang region. Get ready for a thrilling adventure in the heart of Nepal. We will stay overnight in Chhuksang.

After having breakfast, we will drive to the Kalapni village. Chhuksang is determined to drive back to Kalopani, but the rugged terrain will test his skills as he maneuvers through treacherous slopes and winding roads. With every obstacle he overcomes, he grows closer to his destination, fueled by a resolute spirit and an unwavering determination to reach Kalopani once more. We will spend the night in Kalapni.

After breakfast, drive back to Pokhara from Kalapani and take in the stunning beauty of Nepal’s landscapes. Along the way, marvel at the breathtaking views of the Annapurna mountain range, peaceful lakes, and charming villages. Create unforgettable memories and cherish the journey that perfectly captures the essence of Nepal’s natural splendor. Once you arrive at your hotel, freshen up and take a stroll around Pokhara.
