We hiked the Annapurna circuit and up to poon hill. Go was our guide and he made the trip wonderful. Informative on everything mountain-related, energetic and fun, and flexible with our needs. Highly recommend our trek and if you’re lucky enough, Go as your guide! take from Nepal Planet treks.

We’re still dreaming of the Himalaya after our amazing 12-day trek with Nepal Planet! We trekked from Lukla to Gokyo Lakes, then went to Everest Base Camp (EBC) via Cho La Pass. This trip was our first time in Nepal. My partner (from South America) and I (from the US) have traveled a lot, including over a dozen trips to India for me, and we have a lot of experience in the mountains, so we were originally considering trekking without a guide. After reading many stories online about the importance of a guide and guiding culture in Nepal, recognizing we were trying to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time, and receiving an encouraging recommendation of Nepal Planet from a good friend, we decided to book our trip with Nepal Planet. And we’re extremely glad we made the decision to trek with Nepal Planet. From accommodating our hotel requests with flexibility and graciousness, to greeting us at the airport with open arms and smiles, to taking care of us while trekking above 5,500 meters and traversing ice falls, to explaining different aspects of our surroundings and Nepali culture, to sharing many laughs and stories over food and drinks—the team at Nepal Planet helped us create an unforgettable memory and build a deep relationship with a place and people that we hope to return to many more times in our lives. The team has the experience, knowledge, and relationships to make for a hassle-free, remarkable trip; for example, they called ahead to reserve nice lodges with tasty food, kept us on trails that were sometimes difficult to find, and adjusted our flight itinerary on the fly. A special thanks to our incredibly considerate, knowledgeable, and personable guide, Mun, and Sanjib and NJ for supporting our amazing journey from the day we started planning to the day we left the country. Going trekking with Nepal Planet feels like going trekking with your long-lost Nepali family. We strongly recommend trekking with Nepal Planet; they really enhanced our experience. We’ll be back!
We were a group of 5. a mix of young and not so young. This is our 2nd time in Nepal. 1st time was during the earthquake in April 2015. We found Sanjib on facebook and we were observing his postings since Feb 2018. had some conversation with him and found him suitable for our needs. So fast forward to 18 Sept 2018. we arrived at dusty Kathmandu. Sanjib took us to the money changers. bought local sim cards for the mountains (Ncell is good) and off we fly to Lukla on the next day. throughout the trek. he always stayed with us. guarding us against the steep valleys below. gave a helping hand to those who can’t climb up or down steps. This guy is like a Bull. He can run up trails to assist u at a moment notice. no question asked. He also takes our meals orders in advance so as to prep the teahouse kitchen. (food is slow in the mountains) We felt we were very well taken care of. (Our previous guide during poon hill trek was terrible. ran away at the 1st sign of an earthquake/aftershock. Left a very bitter taste in our mouth) Words cant fully describe the service we got from Sanjib and his porters Raj Sherpa and Om Puri. We had a great time. Things are well arranged. no delays. no hiccups. Always accommodating to our request and flexible in arrangements on the trails. We will be back again soon. No need to look for another guide next time.
Sanjib and his team truly are the best tour guide I ever met. Not only he was very communicative, but he also goes extra miles in providing his service. On the day we arrived, he helped us to rent all the equipment we need for the trekking. He also quick in helping us during the trekking and patiently guide our team who are not used to trekking. His team are super friendly, passionate and giving such a best service during their work. Seriously recommended and trustworthy. Our trip to Ghorepani poon hill has been such an incredible journey thanks to him and his team.
This is my third time to go trekking in Nepal. I am so lucky to have an experienced and responsible guide, NJ. NJ was introduced by my friend for my first trekking in 2009 and NJ, his family and I have become friends since then. NJ would take care of everything during the trekking journey, including recommending a suitable routing, arranging nicer accommodations, food as well as pairing a good porter for the trip. I am more than happy to go trekking with my friend and my guide, NJ again in the near future. I have no hesitation to recommend NJ to my friends as he is a reliable and professional guide.
I was recommended the company by a friend who used to do the trek in Nepal few years ago and my experience with the company specifically with the guide was pretty good. We did ABC trek for 8 days and the guide was totally helpful and he also has certain knowledge about treks and mountains. Trekking in mountain is not a game. It is fun but also has a lot of danger so it is important to find a company to guide you to see the best of the country also keep you safe. Jiban – my guide for the trek is amazing. He showed his passion for trekking and he has knowledge about the country and mountain. It was really enjoyable to have him as a company during the trek.
If you are reading this, you have likely made up your mind to trek to Everest Base Camp or explore Nepal and are trying to make a decision about your trekking company. Prior to our adventure, I was where you are at doing as much research as possible as this was my 15 year daughter’s dream and I was tasked with her safety on this trek. With that being said, I placed our well being in the hands of Nepal Planet Treks and Expeditions based on a review I found where Sanjib had led a couple in their mid-50’s safely down from EBC after the earthquakes in 2015. It was a fantastic decision as a team that Sanjib (Laxman – our guide, Raj – our porter, and Sanjib) put together was outstanding and made our trip a memory of a lifetime. The Nepal Planet Treks and Expeditions team went out of their way to accommodate all our needs, schedule, concerns, and the things we didn’t even know we needed. This included: -Prior to arriving, Sanjib was quick to respond to any questions and made planning easy. -Sanjib met us at the airport upon arrival, checked us into the hotel he had arranged for us, took us to dinner and made sure our first day in Kathmandu was easy and fun. -Laxman and Sanjib reviewed our gear prior to the trek and helped us rent or buy what we needed in Kathmandu so what we packed on the trek was exactly what what we should take. -Laxman constantly checked in with us along the trek to make sure we were comfortable and feeling well. He took extra time to address any issues that came up and thoughtfully told us to go at our own pace and enjoy the trek. He also served our meals, making sure we were getting the nutrition and sleep we needed at each tea house. -Laxman knew this was my daughter’s adventure and was conscious about her questions and pace during the day. He even sent pictures/texts back home to my wife to let her know where we were at and that we were safe when our phones did not work (he is our adopted son now by the way). -Every time we saw Raj he had a smile on his face despite lugging all our gear up and down the trail to EBC. -Sanjib took us on a fantastic tour of Kathmandu after we returned from the EBC trek as we had a couple days to kill before flying out. After spending 14 days trekking and couple more in Kathmandu with Laxman and Sanjib, there is obviously a lot more to say, but I think you get the picture. If you are looking for a cost-effective and overly accommodating trekking company in Nepal, you can do no wrong in selecting Sanjib’s Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition P. Ltd.
Highly recommended!! They give very great prices. The guide Mr Jiban Tamang is so friendly and very helpful. All of the arrangement is made is very good. Once while trekking we had some emergency, they managed it excellently. The communication between the staff off and on the trek is very good. We really enjoyed this trekking. Triple thumbs up!!!
NJ and his staff are great to work with. We had a change of plans in the middle of our trek, and our guide made it work out very smoothly. Loxman and Nepal were super to have with us in the field, and NJ helped it all run smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Nepal.
Great support from Sanjib who was waiting at the airport. Good hotel in Thamel. Did hire a guide of my choice. Also made arrangement for extra personal flight to Pokhara.
CuriousWanderlust00 Bangkok, Thailand 11 Reviewed April 18, 2018 Highly Flexible and Organized! I did the 13 Days ABC Trekking + Poon Hill with Nepal Planet Treks on 5-17 Apr 2018. Sanjib has been super fast in replying my emails from the very beginning . I had quite a last minute arrangement – less than a month but everything made possible by Sanjib and his team. I had a little brother during the trip – Jiban 🙂 who was my Guide and Porter and what a super hero he was !! He managed my heavy backpack, my moods, slow walking , frequent rest stops and of course my highly inquisitive mind – like a pro – despite his young age. Bravo Jiban ! You will go far in life if you keep up the positive attitude! Despite the last minute arrangement during this period which turned out to be a peak season as most guesthouses were booked up by big groups, Jiban managed to ‘sweet talk’ his way and get our accommodation sorted out in the end. Otherwise I would have never made it to ABC! And Sanjib has been giving me a first class personalized treatment when we met in Kathmandu. Even though I traveled solo, having Sanjib and Jiban around – you will never be alone. Thank you so very much for arranging one of the best trip Ive had so far! Definitely will travel with you again when Im back in Nepal hopefully soon
My sister and I did the Annapurna Circuit this November with Nepal Planet Treks. It was amazing! This was due to Nepal Planet Treks being so organized and accommodating. From the planning stages to the very end every detail had been taken care off. Our guide and porter were so friendly and made our trip amazing! There was never a point were I was stressed out about what we were doing. I cannot say enough good things about this company and if I ever go back to that area I would use them again in a heartbeat! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293890-d12533716-r637342096-Nepal_Planet_Treks_and_Expedition_P_Ltd-Kathmandu_Kathmandu_Valley_Bagmati_Zone.html#
Sanjib and his team have been very accommodating since the day we start to inquire about the trip. We did the EBC trek from 28th Oct to 8th Nov 2018. It was completely hassle-free for us the moment we arrive at Kathmandu airport, Sanjib greeted us with our guide for the trek Raj at the airport and brought us around for sourcing the equipment. Raj had been very helpful guide indeed along the trail, we were definitely well taken care of during the trail. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend NPT to anyone that wants to do the trail in Nepal. Will definitely return again to this beautiful country!
Luxman was a really great guide! The added fruit at every tea house made every other traveler jealous. We were given the best rooms and the best treatment compared to everyone else we were sharing with. Sanjib was professional and reassuring with every question we had. The overall trek experience is scary, exhilarating and challenging. It takes you out of comfort zones and into bare minimal living. However, as someone who doesnt usually camp, I managed to do it! It was one of the best things i ever did, and couldnt have done it with better and people! Thanks guys.
Will choose Nepal Planet Treks and Expeditions again if we were to go back to Nepal for a trekking trip. Sanjib entertained all our queries promptly while we were planning our trip. Our trekking guide was RL Magar. He is a friendly chap
who encouraged us to ask questions along the way. He never failed to assure us of our safety or lend a helping hand. Beyond that, he always went out of his way to navigate any difficulties we faced as first-time trekkers. He and our porter, kumar, made our trip an outstanding one. Thank you!
As a experienced traveler who has done self-guided tours previous to this trip I decided to hire Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition P. Ltd for my visit to Nepal. NJ Adhikari arranged airport pickup, hotel stay, transportation around the city, guided tours, transportation from Kathmandu to Chitwan Nation Park and back and airport drop-off. The Kathmandu tour was excellent. My guide, Sanjar Thade was very knowledgeable and led a well-informed tour. I would highly recommend this company, I intend to hire them on my upcoming trek to Everest Base Camp.
I booked an EBC trek with Sanjib as he came highly recommended by Tripadvisor and other forums. The guys were fantastic, they have excellent knowledge of the area and provided a wealth of advice/information about the trek, safety during the trek, things to do after the trek. I was initially a little disappointed on the day of the trek that Sanjib was not our guide as I had this trek booked way in advance but I quickly got over. Sarjon (Sanjib’s brother) was a young man with a wealth of knowledge and an easy-going attitude and experienced guide who provided assistance when required.
Many of the staff were always on hand to help particularly after the trek and very helpful in arranging other activities during the rest of our stay. I would definitely recommend Nepal Planet Trek and its Service.
We have been 13 days with Sarjan Adhikari doing the trekking to Base Camp, it has been fantastic, he has been a perfect guide for us. We are a family of five and he has been one more of us. Very pleasant, all the things very organized, all the places we have been has been very good selected,
Everything has been easy with the help and the happy attitude of Sarjan, the best guide ever! We have spent the best two weeks of our lives on the top of the world! Thank you Sarjan! Thank you, Raj!
We went on two separate trips with Nepal planet treks and guide Sanjib Adhiakri. One up to Everest Base Camp and one to Chitwan national park.
I can’t say enough about how amazing the service was and we felt truly valued throughout both experiences. The prices were reasonable and even after we finished the two trips Sanjib was there if we had any questions about Nepal even if we weren’t looking to book anything with him.
Can honestly said that Sanjib and his team made our experience in Nepal so easy and enjoyable!
I could not possibly thank for Nepal planet treks and this company enough for the wonderful trip. I had the very best adventure. Not only did I send Adhikari my wishlist of activities and destinations but I also described the kind of trip I wanted to have: fun and celebratory and also active and exciting. From the time I stepped off the plane until I left to return home, Adhikari had everything planned down to the last detail. He booked me into fantastic hotels, recommended outstanding restaurants, and accommodated each and every request that I voiced. I give Adhikari and his company my highest recommendation without hesitation. The trip was perfect and special.
The trek to Poon Hill is one of the a good and absolutely amazing trip in Nepal! We had always wanted to do this trip but weren’t knowledgeable at all about the process. Just a quick email to Nepal planet treks and the trip was booked, everything taken care of for us begging till end of the treks. Poon Hill trekking is so common to the travelers that stone stages are well developed; guesthouses and citizen houses form villages at several places over the hill, just like everyday checkpoints for the trekkers.
Still, hiring a tour guide is a good choice; he can sometimes share some baggage load, assure for the right route and guarantee the safety of the whole group.
The views were amazing from poon hill and Raj could answer any questions we had. I highly recommend Nepal planet treks in Nepal and if you do use them ask for Raj!
We went for EBC trek with my sister, we hired a guide from Nepal Planet Trek & Expedition. The whole experience was really good and professional. I spoke with Sanjib Adhikari by emails and by phone, Sanjib was really helpful, organizing the permits for us, hiring a porter, booking tickets, hotels and gave us some advice about what we will need for trek.
When we arrived to Kathmandu he picked us up from the airport, everything went smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about anything. Sanjib is a very helpful person, he introduced us to other guide working in the company, who took care of us while being in Kathmandu and showing the city. I can really recommend the Nepal Planet Treks & Expedition, they are all very nice people and also competent. Thank you for the best holiday in my life!
