For those who’ve never tried trekking, or don’t have time for a major trek in the mountains, the Sarangkot Trek is an ideal experience. In just three days, you can get some close-up views of the incredible Himalayas.

The trek is easy and takes you from the wonderful hill of Sarangkot where you can watch great sunrises and sunsets over the mountains. From along the trail, you can easily see Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I, the 7th and 10th highest mountains in the world.

The trek takes you through interesting villages which offer some great mountain views as well as opportunities to see the local culture. Visit the village of Dhampus where you experience Gurung culture at its finest.

The trekking involves local lodges, where you can sit on the front verandas, sipping a cup of tea in the mornings while gazing at the snowcapped peaks. The trek is not very challenging, although there are some stone steps to climb to reach Dhampus Village.

The total time needed for this trek is five days, which includes traveling by first-class luxury bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara in one day, and a one day return to Kathmandu.

Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned trekker, this trek will definitely give you a real feel of the immense beauty as well as the unique local culture of the Himalayas. Day by Day Itinerary

Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m) meet the our international airport and drive to Hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

Start your travel early in the morning at 7:00 am; we will arrange ticket in tourist coach at river side seat to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. Around 6/7 hours (200km) drive we reach Pokhara (a city of Lake, literally); or 30 min. fly to Pokhara as per departure time. A city that offers us the magnificent view of various mountains namely Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchre and other mountain of Annapurna range. You have good chance to do some last minute shopping and self exploration around the town, walk around few lake, boating etc.(Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis).

Early morning, after breakfast, an hour drive from Pokhara to Phedi, you will be passing through Naudanda and Lumle, whilst on clear day, and you can see the awesome view of Annapurna & Manaslu range. Phedi is a small town, which is one of the gateways to the Annapurna region. From Phedi, you will hike to Dhampus approx 2-3 hours. Dhampus mostly uphill through cultivated fields and local villages, this scenic Gurung Village is populated by a mix of people, Gurung, Brahman, Magar communities and it offers a spectacular view Annapurna Range from the Dhampus (Over night at tea house on full board basis).

Wake up early in the morning for sunrise Mountain View. Today the trail descends down to Dhampus River (Stream) and after crossing the river, trail ascends gradually through the paddy fields and small forest to reach Naudanda Village. After Naudanda Walking through the Chhetri and Brahmins Villages after walking slowly 3 hour you reach to Sarangkot. Sarangkot offers a Himalayan panorama consisting of the mighty peaks such as the Annapurnas, Himalchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Lamjung Lamjung plus Pokhara and Phewa Lake view (Overnight at tea house on full board basis).

Wake up early in the morning and hike up to the Sarangkot Sunrise View Point to observe the sunrise over the Whole Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges including fishtail as well as other Soaring Mountain. After having a breakfast trek down to Pokhara which will take you slowly 3 hours downhill through small forest and cultivated fields, in the evening our guide will take you for sightseeing in Pokhara valley and visit the highlights of Pokhara and the surrounding areas. The place to visit pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Bindabashini, which one most important popular Hindu temple in Pokhara. Two hour boating in Phewa Lake and visit the Barahi temple which one in island in Phewa Lake and others popular place David fall (Water fall), Ghupteshower cave etc (Over night at deluxe hotel on BB basis).

You could choose afternoon flight to Kathmandu, till some hours before flight; you may take an optional sightseeing tour around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, be sure to catch the left side of airplane for the best views of Himalayas. Or if you would like to choose by bus, we will arrange ticket in tourist coach at river side seat and start your journey at 7:30 am from Pokhara. Left site’s seats of vehicles are nice to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. After 6/7 hours you will arrive at Kathmandu (beside Thamel) and transfer to your hotel. The day at leisure to rest, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration “Farewell dinner” at traditional Nepalese restaurant together with Mountain Guide Trek staffs for successful completion of the Dhampus Sarangkot Trek! Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Fitness is wealth. Last healthful we would have the ability to finish the journey (trek and tour) with none trouble. So, preparation must be completed months ago. Like for Kailas journey we would be heading to over 5620 meter pass. So, for this experience we should be organized from around 3 months in advance.Like we would need to walk every day. Do normal workout which maintains us healthy at the same time as we are at discipline.Enjoy is different essential factor.We have to hike to hill. We should sluggish down our pace. It is right to be blanketed from the wind, rain.Like we should wear down jackets with layers to get protected.

Equipments & Packing List

This list is a guiding principle that will help you to your adventure. Also keep in mind that the gadgets listed below will vary a little consistent with the season and the trek length.
